The Department of Space Radio Physics was established in 1985 at the newly created Institute of Radio Astronomy of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR, which in 1993 received a brand new name – the Institute of Radio Astronomy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (IRA NASU). The main areas of research of the department are focused on the study of space objects. Currently, these areas are the following:
